Dear Parents and Carers,
On Tuesday 12 May 2026, Calvary students across Stages 2–6 were both entertained and encouraged by guest speaker Reggie Dabbs, who delivered a powerful and engaging message centred on making wise choices and thinking intentionally before making decisions. Through humour, storytelling, and meaningful reflection, Reggie challenged students to consider the impact of their choices and the importance of pausing to think about where their decisions may lead. A particularly powerful part of his message was the reminder that our identity and worth are not determined by the opinions of others, but by the truth that we are beautifully and wonderfully made by God. Using a memorable metaphor, Reggie helped students understand the depth of God’s love for them and the inherent value they carry as people created in His image.
As parents, this provides a valuable opportunity to continue the conversation at home. You may like to ask your child: What was one message from Reggie that stood out to you? What does it mean to make a wise choice, even when it is difficult? How do you know your worth isn’t based on what others say about you? What do you think it means to be created in God’s image? These conversations can help reinforce the important messages shared, while encouraging students to reflect on their identity, decision-making, and faith in meaningful ways.
Calvary's Got Talent and Battle of the Bands
As we approach the end of Term 2, Calvary is excited to host our annual Calvary’s Got Talent and Battle of the Bands competitions. Calvary’s Got Talent provides a wonderful opportunity for students gifted in music, singing, or dance to share their passion and talents on stage with our community, while Battle of the Bands invites students to come together, form a band, and perform live in front of their peers.
These much-loved events are a fantastic celebration of student creativity, courage, and performance, with prizes awarded to individuals or groups achieving 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each competition. Students were emailed the links to enter this event by Mr Arraiol, and entries close on Monday 18 May 2026.

Year 11 Subject Selection Evening
Subject Selection evening (for current Year 10 students) is being held on Monday 18 May in the CCC at 6pm. This will include a short information session followed by an opportunity for students and parents to peruse subject displays and talk to subject teachers.
Year 9 Service Trip Donations
Each year, our Year 9 students travel to Chinchilla and Tara Shire for their Service Trip in September. As part of this initiative, we are collecting donations of shoes, warm blankets, and winter clothing for students at Tara Shire State College, where many families would benefit from additional support. In the Middle and Senior School, these donations will replace the usual gold coin contribution for Free Dress at the end of the term; students can bring their items to Form class throughout the term, where their donation will be recorded and permission for Free Dress granted.
