Co-curriculars Term 2

Please click here for more information

At Calvary, we are committed to educating the whole child, and one way we do this is through our Co-Curricular Program. We encourage all students to get involved by joining at least one co-curricular activity or club. If your child hasn’t signed up yet, we invite you to review the co-curricular timetable together and find an activity that sparks their interest. These opportunities help students grow, connect, and develop new skills beyond the classroom.

We look forward to seeing them thrive in their chosen activities!

Welcome to Term 2!

We hope you’ve had a refreshing break and enjoy the upcoming long weekend as we pause to honour the significance of ANZAC Day tomorrow.

This term, we are placing a strong focus on emotional regulation as a key theme in student personal development. In a recent assembly we explored the importance of this life skill—highlighting how it supports healthy relationships, resilience, and wise decision-making both in-person and online. Whether it’s managing emotions after being ghosted, dealing with online trolling, or navigating everyday challenges, emotional regulation is essential beyond the College gates. Students were shown this short video on the topic: Watch here. I share this with you as it may spark a valuable conversation at home over the long weekend.

Parent Teacher Interviews

A friendly reminder that Parent Teacher Interviews will be held next Tuesday. This is a valuable opportunity to connect, celebrate your child’s progress, and discuss how we can best support their learning journey together. Bookings can be made using the link in the tile above and will close on Sunday morning at 8am. These conversations are an important part of our partnership, and we encourage parents to attend with their child, as it empowers students to take ownership of their learning.

Three helpful questions to consider asking your child's teacher include: What are my child’s strengths? Where are my child’s challenges? What positive changes could my child make in Term 2 to improve?

Qustodio Parent App

We are still encouraging guardians and parents to sign up for the Qustodio app using their email addresses registered with the College. In doing so guardians and parents will be able to better control and guide their children's screen time on the College laptop and a personal device per student registered at the College.

🔗 Access installation guides by following this link: Help Guides

Qustodio helps ensure safe and balanced screen time for students. Thank you for partnering with us in promoting responsible technology use!

ANZAC Day March

ANZAC Day is a special day for reflecting on the bravery and leadership of those who serve and protect our country, past and present.

To mark this important day, Calvary Junior School warmly invites all students and families (including MSS siblings) to join us for the Springwood ANZAC Day March on Friday, 25 April 2025.

Our Year 6 Captains will proudly carry wreaths and the school banner as we walk together along Cinderella Drive to the ANZAC stone in the park, where the commemorative service will begin at 8:20am.

Participants are asked to meet at the Community Centre on Cinderella Drive by 7:15am, with the march commencing at 7:45am. Students should wear their full formal school uniform, including their formal hat. Please also bring an umbrella for sun protection or in case of rain.

PLEASE BE PREPARED FOR WET WEATHER

Drop Off Reminders

Parents are not to park in bays reserved for Kingdom Kids parents. The Kingdom Kids parking bays are located directly outside Kingdom Kids.

Parking options for drop off and pick up are quick drop off/pick up (lane that runs adjacent to Calvary Community Centre building) and the Western carpark.
