Kindness First – New Blog by Mr Josh Wilson

In a world where social media often rewards outrage over empathy, I’ve been encouraging our students to respond differently with grace and compassion. A recent viral incident reminded us all how important it is to extend kindness first, just as Jesus did. He didn’t ask questions or set conditions; He simply chose love. My hope is that our young people will model this same spirit, treating others with respect and dignity, even when they disagree. Together, we can raise a generation who lead with kindness and bring light to the world around them.

Chapel Guest Speaker

This week at Chapel, we were fortunate to have Josh Geerling join us with a special message on finding gratitude during times of trial and challenge. Josh offered our students fresh insights based on the Biblical story of Job and shared real-life applications of relying on God's eternal promise and salvation.

Term 3 Reading Challenge

At the end of Term 3, students in MSS were encouraged to borrow books to take home and read for the holidays, and each borrower received a chocolate treat to munch while they read! Forty students took up the offer, and four of these are pictured.

Here at the Calvary library, our team has been working hard on adding lots of new titles to the shelves, and we've inspired students to engage with reading by providing the chance to meet Australian authors and create an inviting and inspiring space.

Evidence shows that people who read widely for pleasure will achieve better results in all subjects, increase positive neural pathway development, develop great focus skills, and experience more calm. We are doing all we can at Calvary to promote reading, however, recent studies show that it is essential for parents to be positive reading role models.

Below is an article which explains the importance of modelling good reading practices for our students:
