Mr Dino Arraiol - Head of School Community and Wellbeing MSS
Dear Parents and Carers,
At Calvary, we believe that every day counts. While regular classroom learning is important, alternative school days such as athletics carnivals, special events, chapel services, excursions, and community activities are also valuable parts of a student’s education. In a culture that often asks, “What is in it for me?”, the simple but powerful discipline of showing up can sometimes be overlooked. Yet attendance is about more than being physically present; it reflects commitment, perseverance, and the understanding that growth happens through consistency, participation, and shared experiences.
There will always be days when students feel tired, unmotivated, or unsure whether a particular school day feels “worth it.” However, part of growing in character is learning to show up despite how we feel, because we are committed to something bigger than ourselves. When students attend each day, including alternative program days, they become part of the broader life of the College, build friendships, strengthen their sense of belonging, and participate in moments of connection and community that cannot always be recreated later.
MSS Athletics Carnival - Friday 5 June 2026

Athlete's Foot School Rewards Program
Calvary has a partnership with the Athlete’s Foot Superstore at the Logan Hyperdome. For every pair of shoes bought through them, they donate $5 back to our sporting program. They have our shoe-style guidelines for the College, so mention you are from Calvary next time you are in store when looking for some new shoes.

Year 9 Service Trip Donations
Each year, our Year 9 students travel to Chinchilla and Tara Shire for their Service Trip in September. As part of this initiative, we are collecting donations of shoes, warm blankets, and winter clothing for students at Tara Shire State College, where many families would benefit from additional support.
In the Middle and Senior School, these donations will replace the usual gold coin contribution for Free Dress at the end of the term; students can bring their items to Form class throughout the term, where their donation will be recorded and permission for Free Dress granted.
