Head of Junior School Carbrook - Zoe O'Donnell

Dear Parents and Carers,

Today was a cracker of a day as our combined Calvary Junior School Stage 2 and Stage 3 students came together for the Athletics Carnival. The day was filled with energy, House spirit and encouragement. What stood out most was the balance between competitive excellence and wholehearted participation, with students striving for personal bests while supporting and celebrating one another.

Finishing the day together as a Carbrook community for assembly was the icing on the cake. Our Stage 2 students shared an encouraging message about "mean on purpose" behaviour and how we can hold healthy boundaries and respond positively in tricky friendship situations.

A reminder that our Junior School Performing Arts Soirée begins at 4:00pm. We would love to see families come along and support our talented performers.

We also have the Amazing Race: Family Edition next Friday, organised by our Middle and Senior School students. All families are welcome. Please see the attached flyer for details.

Sunset Soiree

GOOD LUCK to all of our performers for the Sunset Soiree and Concert this evening! It is a big deal to get up and perform in front of even one person, so we respect the courage and tenacity in our students. It's promising to be a fun night of individual talents, and then our larger group items in the CCC from 5:30pm for the concert. Please continue to encourage and support your young musicians  - we are so proud of them all! Keep an eye out for photos of the event on our social media.

Chinchilla Trip Donations

Each year, our Year 9 students travel to Chinchilla and Tara Shire for their Service Trip in September. As part of this initiative, we are collecting donations of shoes, warm blankets, and winter clothing for students at Tara Shire State College, where many families would benefit from additional support. Students can bring their items to class throughout the term.

ATHLETE’S FOOT SCHOOL REWARDS PROGRAM

Calvary has a partnership with the Athlete’s Foot Superstore at the Logan Hyperdome. For every pair of shoes bought through them, they donate $5 back to our sporting program. They have our shoe-style guidelines for the College, so mention you are from Calvary next time you are in store when looking for some new shoes.
