Essential questions to ask yourself to check that your Primary child is on track.

The primary years are often a tricky period to get right with children, as they are often becoming both more and less mature, their emotions are a little more up and down the older they get, and their interests and personality might seem to change… from day to day! So how can you get through this period of change with positivity and success, and ensure that everyone still likes each other at the conclusion?

Clinical Psychologist, Dr Judith Locke, is returning to offer this follow up session to parents of primary students. In this session, Judith will use latest research and clinical experience to show practical, positive, and effective strategies parents can use to check on their child’s progress and help their child successfully get through the developmental changes of these different ages and stages while maintaining family harmony.

**This is a Parent Only session, and a student disco will be on at the same time for Prep to Stage 3 students.

Head of School Community & Wellbeing, Carbrook Junior School - Zoe O'Donnell

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week has been a very special one across the College as we have celebrated leadership. In the Junior School, we honoured our Year 6 students and formally inducted our 2026 Year 6 Captains. It was a proud moment for our whole community to pause, reflect and recognise the responsibility and privilege that comes with leadership.

Throughout the induction, students were reminded that leadership is not about titles or badges, but about service by showing care for others, taking responsibility, and contributing positively to the life of our school. Our Year 6 leaders have already begun to demonstrate these qualities through their actions, their willingness to support younger students, and the pride they take in representing our community.

We are excited to see how they continue to grow as leaders throughout the year, modelling our values and setting a positive example for others.

Friendly reminder that student supervision begins at 8:00am each day.

Update from Acting Head of Performing Arts, Kerryn Vezos

It is so heartwarming to walk around our school and hear the Bands and Ensembles playing, and students singing - sometimes early in the morning, sometimes late in the afternoon.  Our Junior School Chapel Band filled the PAC with worship early Wednesday morning - fabulous sounds for their first week back. Percussion are playing some inventive pieces, and Guitar Ensemble are already planning a visit to Wirunya in the near future. Senior Concert Band are up bright and early Thursday morning, with an excellent sound.  Our newest Ensemble - Hand Bells - have had some fun with their brand new bells -  Music brings joy to the soul!

We look forward to welcoming Stage 2 and 3 to the first Voices Choir rehearsal this Friday morning - if you come along, you'll find out what a Ping Pong Ball, Thunder and Mountain have in common!
