A note from the Head of Middle and Senior School (Mr Wilson)

Dear Parents and Carers

Congratulations to our students who received Semester One Academic Awards at our assembly yesterday. We have a considerable number of high achieving students in the MSS and I was impressed by how many of our students who received Gold and Silver awards (this means that they achieved above 90% in multiple subjects or in the case of a few students, all of their subjects).

Achieving good results across high school becomes less about a child’s natural ability and more about their willingness to engage and put the effort into study and getting useful, targeted feedback. This is particularly the case for students in the senior years. As a reminder, the College provides a range of group tutoring services for Mathematics and English students across the course of the week should students wish to avail themselves of these opportunities.

Monday the 12 August is the Ekka public holiday for our region – I hope our students enjoy their long weekend.

Mr Josh Wilson
Head of Middle & Senior School & Innovative Learning Design

School Refusal Data

As part of our ongoing efforts to better support our students and their families, we are conducting research into the impact of school refusal. School refusal can be a challenging experience for both children and parents and understanding its effects is crucial in helping us provide the necessary support and resources.

We are reaching out to ask for your assistance in this important research. If your child has ever experienced school refusal that caused you concern, we kindly request that you share your experiences by filling out the attached survey. Your insights will be invaluable in helping us understand the scope and nature of this issue within our school community.

Rest assured that all information provided will be kept confidential and will be used solely for this research. Your participation is entirely voluntary, however, your contribution will play a significant role in shaping the support systems we can offer towards our students and their families.

To participate, please click the link below to access the survey.

We appreciate your time and willingness to help us in this important endeavour. Should you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We appreciate your support.

Book Week

The students and staff in the Middle and Senior School will be celebrating Book Week with a special Dress Up Day on Friday, August 23. We challenge our students to dress up as their favorite book characters for a chance to win prizes and be part of the Interhouse Instagram video challenge on the day.
To ensure everyone has a great time, please support your children in choosing characters that are respectful and age-appropriate for the school context. A special reminder that all costumes should meet the school's free dress policy, which is attached here for your reference.

The movie being screened is 'IF', a heartwarming and inspirational film suitable for all ages. In addition to the movie, our Year 10 students will be hosting a variety of games starting at 5:15 PM to entertain children while they wait for the movie to begin.
