Dear Parents and Carers,
Well, what a fantastic finish to the year!
It has certainly been a term of celebration. We could not be more proud of our students’ growth, investment and achievement. Thank you to our staff and to this vibrant community of parents, friends and family members who pray for and champion us in the work we do. Our children are the fruit of this blessing and support.
Celebration
We love seeing the students involved in their areas of passion, and hope you enjoyed their performances at last Thursday's Celebration. These events take time, and much preparation is involved. Thank you to Mrs Claassen and a mighty team of staff working alongside her to bring the vision of Celebration 2023 to life.
Year 6 Affirmation Service
Encouragement and Affirmation are powerful tools that we use to show our children who we see them to be. Yesterday’s Year 6 Affirmation event was a special time for our 2023 cohort and their families to reflect on their journey in Junior School and be excited for the season ahead. We pray God’s richest blessings over you all!
Leadership 2024
Congratulations to our incoming 2024 leadership team;
Free Dress & Great Water Fight
Students (and parents if you dare), don’t forget to bring your water gun tomorrow for our Prep – Year 5 Water Fight. This occurs at the end of the day from 2pm, and students head home wrapped in a towel. To minimise lost property, we recommend sending students in play clothes that you don’t mind getting wet. This means less items to lose and less time taken to get changed at second break. All students should bring spare shoes they can get wet (closed in recommended to avoid ant bites, but thongs or crocks are acceptable), and a hat. Of course, bring a named water pistol. We will have sprinklers and reloading water buckets in our designated Stage play areas. It’s a fun way to cool off at the end of a busy term. Parents, you are welcome to join in.
Semester 2 Reports
Student reports for Semester 2 will be available for parents to download from Parent Lounge via the app or website, from 5pm Friday 1 December. Please refer to the letters below for a deeper understanding of the reporting process and format.

Booklists
Please don’t forget to sort your booklists by Wednesday 13 December 2023. If you are having any issues with your on-line ordering, please see below a link to the Campion Help Site. https://campion.com.au/support-help/support-for-parents/
Those who select to have their book list delivered to school, can collect these on Friday 12 January 2024, from the Springwood campus staffroom (near administration), between 9am – 12pm. Staff will be there to assist.
We will see everyone again at our Book Drop Off morning on Friday 19 January 2024 and will be ready for our first day of the new school year the following Monday 22 January.
End of Year
As the school year comes to an end, planning is under way for an exciting 2024. Early January, a welcome letter will be emailed out to families and following this, we will email our class letters from the teachers to students and parents.
Real Life Christian Church Christmas
If you are looking for a Christmas Service to attend this year, Real Life Christian Church is hosting services on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
The Christmas Eve Service commences at 4.30pm, preceded at 3.45pm with a fantastic Afternoon Tea served in the Courtyard, and the Christmas Day service will commence at 9.00am in the main Auditorium.
All are welcome to attend!
Community Facebook Groups
Each year, we create new Facebook groups for each Stage. These are groups for parents only and promote the weekly learning and activities of that Stage.
Our Springwood Community Facebook group will now be managed in the same way. As we are conscious of the privacy and security of our Calvary members, we will be archiving the current Calvary Christian College Springwood Campus Community Facebook group at the end of Term 1, 2024.
We are asking all families to join our 2024 community group, ready for the new year. Administrators will approve membership of current and 2024 families. You can find this by searching the group name; Calvary Christian College – Springwood Campus Community Group 2024
Between now and the end of Term 1, we encourage you to scroll through some of the precious memories in our current Facebook group before it is discontinued.
Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support in this space.
On behalf of myself and the staff here at Springwood, we wish all our families a very happy Christmas and a safe and restful break. Thank you for another sensational year!

Head of Junior School - Springwood Campus
