Dear Parents and Carers,
It’s Book Week!
Although we live in a highly digital world, instilling a love of reading a good book at an early age is vital to a child’s development. One of the largest benefits of reading is that it sparks curiosity. Curious minds are creative and innovative, find joy in learning and are open to seeing different perspectives. Some children are more inclined to read than others, but by making reading fun and relaxing, we can empower our children to develop and appreciate this life-long skill.
Thank you for instilling the love of books and reading with us this week. We were thrilled to see so many parents join us at the Book Parade and the student’s costumes were fantastic!
Prep & Stg 1 Athletics Carnival
Wednesday 28 August is our new date for the Prep and Stage 1 Athletics morning. Our Year 6 students will be taking a lead role in supporting students through their activities. Parents – this means you can relax and watch or join in the fun! Please see information here.
Father's Night Community Event
There are still some tickets left for our community event next week. Father’s Day is fast approaching, and we want to take this opportunity to honour our dads and father figures. Come along from 4.30pm and enjoy loaded hamburgers, drinks, and ice creams, as well as two enormous inflatable ninja warrior courses. Something for everyone to enjoy! Book Tickets Here
Safe on Socials
Safe on Socials student presentations are designed to offer children an understanding of online safety, digital literacy, ethics, and the law. Student presentations will be held on Tuesday 27 August for our Stage 2 & 3 students.
Parents, there is an information session for you as well, held at the Carbrook campus on Tuesday 27 August from 5pm. These same topics will be reinforced to empower you to lead a safe online environment for your child at home.
Child minding services will be available for this evening and bookings can be made, along with your ticket, via this link: Register Here
Information about the SOS is available here: Kirra Pedergast

Good News Week - Bake Sale Donations
In Week 9 the chaplaincy team are running “The Good News Week”, where we give intentional focus to being and bringing the good news of Jesus.
During 2nd break on Wednesday 4th September, some Year 6’s will be running a bake sale and sausage sizzle to raise money and awareness for our partnership with Compassion.
If you would like to contribute donations of nut-free baked goods/lollies, please bring them to the Happy Hens Café on the Wednesday morning. Please also include a list of ingredients with anything you bring for allergy purposes.
Stay tuned for more information about The Good News week.
Blessings

From the Health Hub
From time to time all schools have instances of Head Lice amongst students. We currently have reported cases within the College. This condition is readily transmitted and will recur if not monitored regularly. Treatments and preparations that act as a preventative are available from the chemist. It’s important to note that having head lice is not a sign of dirtiness or poor hygiene. It would be appreciated if you could instigate regular checks of your child's scalp for head lice.
Exclusion is not necessary, if your child has lice, provided that effective treatment is commenced before the next attendance day.
