Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome to the start of a new school year at Calvary Christian College! It has been such a joy to see the children arrive on campus with big smiles, reconnecting with friends, making new friendships, and settling into their new classrooms with excitement and curiosity. For those joining our community for the first time, I extend a warm welcome – what a blessing it is to have you here.  

As someone new to the Calvary family, it has been heartwarming to witness the energy and buzz that fills our school.  

Drop off and Collection Options – Duty of Care

To ensure the safety of our students and the smooth flow of traffic, please take note of the following procedures:  

• Turning Circle: The Turning Circle is designed for quick drop off and pick up only. Cars must keep moving and no parking is permitted in this zone. Due to the time required to securely fasten Preps, we kindly ask parents and carers to park and collect their children. This area is supervised by staff from 8:00 – 8:30am and 3:00pm-3:15pm. 
   
• Real Life Church Carpark: This is the most ideal parking area for parents who wish to come on campus with their children.  
  
  
• Classroom: Collecting your child from their classroom is such a lovely way to greet your child at the end of the day. Please aim for 3:00pm and be mindful of the learning taking place as you arrive and avoid gathering in areas that might distract the children.  
  
  
• Inter-campus Bus Service: We provide supervision for Springwood siblings of Middle and Senior school students who attend our Carbrook campus. This is our ‘Bus Sibs’ program. Supervision begins at 7:30am and we ask parents to remain present with their children until the bus has arrived or supervision has begun. In the afternoons, parents are asked to collect their children at 4pm when the bus arrives. Supervision concludes at 4:15pm.  

Alternate Plans: From time-to-time families may have the need to ask another family friend or extended family member to collect children from school. If this occurs, please email the office prior to 3pm with the details of the pick-up arrangements.   

Parent Information Evening

We invite you to come along to our Springwood Junior School information night on Tuesday 4 February from 6pm in the Real Life Christian Church auditorium. Hear from some key staff members before branching out into your child’s classroom for a meet and greet with the Learning Designers in each Stage. The Stage sessions begin at 6:45pm and a second (repeat) session held at 7:30pm for those who have multiple children in the school. Please bring along, or email class teachers in advance, any questions you might have. 

Uniform

At Calvary, we believe that taking pride in our presentation shows our commitment to excellence. Please be reminded of the expectations for College uniform. Over the coming weeks, we will have specific focus on “wearing our uniform with pride”. If we notice something that does not meet the expectation, we will let you know, thank you for partnering with us to ensure our students take pride in their uniform.

Uniform Shop Update

Uniform Carbrook Campus 

The uniform shop, which is located on the Carbrook campus, will be open on:

Mondays and Wednesdays 7:45am–9:00am and 1:00pm–2:00pm and 2:30pm–4:00pm.

It will also be open fortnightly on Tuesdays 7:45am-9:00am (Weeks 3,5,7,9 this term).

Online Orders

Orders can be placed online any time. An email notification will be sent when your order is ready for collection. Collection is from the campus you nominate.

Exchange/return requests can be dropped to reception on either campus any time. Once the exchange has been processed an email notification will be sent.

Springwood: Orders will be delivered in a sealed bag with your child’s name and class on it to the child’s classroom.

Facebook parent communication

Please see the letter attached with our Facebook guidelines and the details for each stage Facebook group. We use Facebook as a tool to share insight into learning in the classroom, however this is not our primary point of communication.

2026 Scholarship Applications

Calvary offers scholarships for either Academic Excellence or Excellence (in Sport, Music or other cocurricular contribution e.g. Show Team, Debating).

Academic and Excellence Scholarships are available for 2026. Scholarships recognise students’ exceptional performance and contributions to our community.

Apply below by 19 February 2025

The exams are held at the College Carbrook campus on Saturday 1 March 2025.

Sports News

Term 1 Sporting Clubs

At Calvary we have many amazing clubs for students to choose from, including sports clubs. For Term 1 the Sporting Clubs on offer are futsal and running clubs. Please see the link below outlining each. Futsal is open to students in Grades 3-6. Running Club is open to students in Grades 1-6.

Swimming Carnival Stage 2 and 3

The swimming Carnival will be held on Wednesday 19^th February. House meetings will be held this Friday 31^st January. Information for families will be sent next week.
