Dear Parents and Carers

This week, it has been lovely to see our students settling into their new classrooms and connecting with old and new friends. Our clubs all kicked off this week which made for many new and exiting opportunities at lunch time and before school. Our teachers will continue to remind students about what we have on offer each day.

Semester 1 Clubs

Please have a look through the cocurricular clubs that will be on offer for Term 1. We encourage all our students to get involved and try something new. These clubs will all begin in week 2.

Please note: Thursday JAG is now full

Parent Information Evening:

Tonight we have our Parent Information Night on, starting in the CCC at 6.00pm for a whole Junior School session and followed by time to visit classrooms and connect with your child’s teacher. This year, we have recorded our classroom information with a powerpoint for you to view. These contain important information about each stage. Please watch these in advance so that you can come with any questions or queries on the night. If you can not make it tonight, we also encourage you to watch and let your child’s teacher know if you have any questions.

Stage Parents

We would like to invite all parents (mums and dads), to consider supporting the College community through the role of “Stage Parent”.

A Stage Parent connects with class teachers and other parents, assisting the College in building and maintaining a positive sense of community amongst the families of each Stage.

If you might be interested in serving in this role please see the letter attached.

Calvary Photo Day

Please note that formal student photographs will be taken on 21 February 2024. All students are required to wear their formal uniform on this day. Our photography team will provide order forms by next week to allow families to complete their orders before the due date. These forms have been distributed to children during school time. Please take special note that sibling photographs will take place in the CCC before school, starting at 8:15 AM. A timetable of the complete schedule for the day will be provided in future parent communications. If a student is away on the day of the formal photographs, there is another opportunity for them to have their photograph taken on 29 February 2024. If you are having trouble sourcing part of the formal uniform at this point, please contact your child’s class teacher.

Lego Wanted

Soon we will have a Lego club running with members of our wellbeing team. We are asking for any donations of Lego to be brought into the Carbrook main administration.

Uniform Check In

Now we are all settled into the new school term, we are looking at some general uniform codes such as students’ hair and shoes. Students should be wearing the appropriate shoes with each uniform. No sport shoes with the formal uniform and please refrain from purchasing Mary Jane shoes (with buckles). Our guidelines for hair, (for all students), ask that hair be off the face, fringes above the eyebrows. You can read the full uniform guide for hair, jewellery and other items in the parent manual on our website, or use this link:

2024 Government Student Residential Address Collection

Each year the College is required to submit data for the Student Residential Address Collection (the collection). The collection informs Australian Government school education policy and helps ensure funding for non-government schools is based on need. The information collected is used to inform school funding calculations. It is combined with Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) data to calculate a non-government school community’s anticipated capacity to contribute to schooling costs.
